New Vikings quarterback Josh Dobbs might not know all his teammates’ names, but he still led them to victory

How are you all doing? Call me Josh Dobbs. A triumphant Vikings quarterback grinned as he congratulated his players after leading his new team to a 31-28 road victory over the Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sunday.

After Kirk Cousins, the top quarterback for the Vikings, was ruled out of the season due to an Achilles injury, Dobbs was acquired by the Arizona Cardinals in a trade last week.

Dobbs, who is in his sixth season but has only played in 17 games, took Jaren Hall's place on Sunday after the rookie was forced out of the game in the first quarter with a concussion.

After finishing 20-for-30 and throwing for 158 yards with two touchdowns in the air and one on the ground, Dobbs told reporters, "This one was kind of learn as you go, hair's on fire, hold onto your seat, but guys were able to respond."

With just 22 seconds left, one of those touchdowns gave the Vikings the lead. Warm-ups were when Dobbs said he threw his first ball to Brandon Powell, who made the game-winning catch. He claimed he hadn't done any drills, yet despite not truly knowing his new teammates, he was able to interact with them well.
