Tampa Bay was trying to end a three-game losing streak when they scored a touchdown, taking a 37-33 lead.
However, Stroud and the Texans did not give up. With 31 seconds remaining, the Texans took their final timeout of the game and Stroud found Noah Brown to move the team to the Tampa Bay 41-yard line. With 16 seconds remaining, Stroud connected with Tank Dell for 26 yards along the sideline following a spike, moving Houston down to the Tampa Bay 15. With six seconds remaining in a thrilling last drive, Stroud connected with Dell once more on the following play to score his fifth touchdown pass of the day and give Houston a 39-37 advantage.

With 470 passing yards on 30 for 42 completion, Stroud set a record for most passing yards by a rookie in an NFL game. When the Indianapolis Colts faced the Miami Dolphins in 2012, Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts threw for 433 yards, setting the previous record.
